Has Hip Hop been one of the greatest forces for multi-culturalism in our day and age?

National Geographic magazine wrote an article saying that Hip Hop (rap, streetdancing, graffiti, dj-ing and to some extent rnb) is the most popular subculture in the world among young people today, having replaced rock %26amp; roll in popularity among that demographiv during the 1990's when it went mainstream

It means that pretty much anyone who was born after 1980, grew up listening to (or atleast knowing about) African-American rap %26amp; rnb artists , and in some cases listening to them exclusively. One cannot appreciate how far reaching Hip Hop is until they travel around the world, to countries like Korea where they hold annual bboy competitions, to France where hip hop dancing and rap music have achieved a near political status, to Russia where kids pay to see krumpers from America come to perform, etc. It spans every part of the globe that has access to media

As a side effect of the popularity of hip hop, many young people who are into the culture have used it as a basis for forming friendships with people from other races %26amp; nationalities who also share a passion for the culture. One can look at the show, "America's Best Dance" where dance groups compete for a prize, and see how diverse the various crews are, from the world famous Jabbawockeez (composed of Blacks, Asians %26amp; Latinos), to IamMe (composed of Latinos, Whites, Asians, Arabs %26amp; Blacks), to even international crews from countries like the UK's Diversity crew *composed of whites %26amp; Blacks), to Canada's NorthBuck %26amp; Moonrunners.

Yup , Hip Hop is awesome
I could agree with both of the other two people. Hip Hop has strongly influenced the world and I'm proud of my culture. But I have to disagree with the blonde lady that its a bad thing. All music has their bad apples.Has Hip Hop been one of the greatest forces for multi-culturalism in our day and age?
You can factually say the same thing about fashion and gaming. Drugs as well. I don't see hip hop as special. We are human and love entertainment...it comes in all forms.Has Hip Hop been one of the greatest forces for multi-culturalism in our day and age?
I like some of it but what is a yellow bone and red bone woman. Rappers talk about this.
Maybe but it's not a good thing.
