Is this email a SCAM?

Ok so i went on Pennysaver, %26amp; I listed my city. When i found the puppy i wanted i sent them an email. Turns out they live across the country. AND they are giving away a MALTESE puppy for free. All i have to do is pay delivery. This is the email they first sent.

Hello,

Thanks for the mail and your interest toward my lovely babies. They

are male and female. They one siting alone is called Emma and is the

male while the one am holding is called Kelly and is the female. They

are 12 weeks old. They are AKC registered, vet check. well tamed and

potty trained, good associate with kids and other house hold pets also

simple to learn.

To begin I will start asking you some questions.

-Are you a breeder?

-Have you any experience with Maltese Puppies?

-Are you sure that you are going to take care of any of my babies?

-Do you have a vet in your location?

-Were Exactly are you located?

-Which is the puppy you are interested in?

-How soon do you need this puppy?

-Can you give me a description of your house?

I am giving out them for free since i have been transferred to work

with the National Geographic Program, i have relocated to ALASKA and

now i am in seminar that would last for 3 months and it will not be

possible for me to take proper care of the puppies which was a sole

responsibility of my late Wife. They really do remind me of her sad

memories all the time i look at them and hurts deeply. So, my greatest

desire is to find someone who can properly take care of the puppies

and if you can i will be so grateful, i can arrange for delivery if

you cannot come right up here for them .Below are some pics of them

hope you will love them.

Thanks and Waiting. Is this email a SCAM?
100% scam.

There is no dog.

There are stolen pictures of someone else's dog.

There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money.

The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "pet shipping company" and will demand you pay for shipping fees, in cash, and only by Western Union or moneygram.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

If you google "Cameroon pet scam", "fake puppy sale scam Western Union" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims of this type of scam.
It sounds too good to be true. The fact that their use of the English language is not so great is also a tip off that they are scammers. If you send them money to "pay for delivery", I guarantee you will never see a puppy despite the wonderful emails you receive. You get what you pay for. Deal locally to avoid getting ripped off. (Sorry). Is this email a SCAM?
obviously.Is this email a SCAM?
Sounds too good to be true so maybe it is.
I am a little suspicious to whom this person is giving out free puppies. Ahh, don't bother it looks fake to me.
It's a Cameroon puppy scam

First of all, if they were in Alaska they would have listed the puppies there, not in your city

Second, if they were in Alaska they would have NO problem finding local families

Third, NOBODY refers to puppies as "babies" unless they are a scammer

Fourth, you are looking at minimum $1200 per puppy to ship them from Alaska even if they did exist

Want to prove it's a scam, tell him that it's such a coincidence but your aunt lives in Alaska so she will just come and pick up the puppies and then bring them with her on the plane when she visits you in June.

NEVER agree to any dog that you cannot see in person before you hand over any money. Google Cameroon puppy scam - this scam has been around for more than 10 years

Google the odd sentence:"They

are 12 weeks old. They are AKC registered, vet check. well tamed and

potty trained, good associate with kids and other house hold pets also

simple to learn." and see how many times this sentence has been reported in puppy scams
