What magazine cover sticks in your mind? (see details)?

When I think "magazine" I always get a mental picture of a Time Magazine with a drawing of Nixon on the cover, right after he resigned and Ford pardoned him. A close second is the distinctive blocks and shapes of colors where were always on the Highlights magazines in doctors' offices (a kids' magazine--I don't know if it's still around). Third is an Annie Leibowitz photo of Linda Ronstadt on a Rolling Stone cover from the mid-70's. And then there's the distinctive yellow box border of National Geographic, but I can't dredge up any particular picture to put in it. What do you think of? Something you saw new please, not a famous cover from the 19th century! What magazine cover sticks in your mind? (see details)?
The two most memorable covers (specific ones) for me are both National Geographic ones: 1) the unforgettable picture of the young lady from Afghanistan (Jun 85)--I also read with interest the followup pictures recently on her life, but the '85 cover remains etched in my mind--the eyes so haunted (and haunting).

The second is the National Geographic hologram cover of Early Man--Nov 85. It wasn't their first hologram cover, as I recall, but it made a deep impression on me.

As an aside, how many of you recall stacks and stacks of old National Geographics in your childhood home--my mom and dad kept them for years. Fortunately now we can get them electronically, but I suspect there were thousands of homes in which the old yellow-bordered magazines piled up, treasure troves for those elementary school research projects (PI!).

For me I don't think I will ever forget this cover National Geographic Magazine that was republish in the '00 . The original was 1985 I believe. It a photo of an Afgan refugee. Her eyes are what I will never forget. What magazine cover sticks in your mind? (see details)?
The cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in 1999 when Kurt Cobain was labeled the Artist of the Decade. I still have the magazine. What magazine cover sticks in your mind? (see details)?
I think of either the various celebrity magazines that have had my picture on them, or the M*A*S*H Mad Magazine.
I think of Texas Monthly's recent issue with a picture of two astronauts in full gear sitting on a bed. The cover read Astronaut Sex. It was an article about the astronaught that went crazy. Since I live in Houston and NASA is very big here I was interested in knowing something about NASA and how they operate. Are they efficient and as glamourous and cutting edge of technology that we think they are?

My daughter saw it and reminded me that there were children in the house and I should be careful about what was laying around. I had a big laugh.
...on the cover of National Geographic. The photo was by Steve McCurry.

One of the most famous images to appear on the cover of National Geographic. From the lens of world-renowned photographer Steve McCurry is this portrait of the famous 鈥欌€橝fghan Girl.鈥欌€?Taken in 1984 in an Afghan refugee camp, the 鈥欌€橝fghan Girl鈥欌€?remained anonymous until 2002 when Steve McCurry returned to Afghanistan to search once again for the 鈥欌€橝fghan Girl.鈥欌€?There he found Sharbat Gula, with the same haunting eyes as she had 17 years earlier.
