What does my school teacher keep confiscating my books?

I'm 10 years old and in grade school at a christian school and the teachers keep taking my books which I love reading. Reading creates a picture in my head that helps me escape the modern world. They did a random inspection of my locker because some kid dobbed on me because I prefer to read than sit with him and watch TV and took away books that I had been reading calling them "vile", "wretched" and "unclean for pure minds". There were some Twilight books and Harry Potter novels which they said were "demonic" and could lead me down a path that is "unwholesome".

There were a few others that they took too saying they were too violent for me such as "Of Mice and Men", "Catch-22" and "Romeo and Juliet". They even took my National Geographic DVD's which explain about how penguins live in the Antarctic saying I didn't need them because I would never go there anyway. I'm at boarding school so I can't go home and tell my parents either. What should I do?What does my school teacher keep confiscating my books?
RIDICULOUS.

My teachers would have been proud if I read.

Call your parents.

Stand up for yourself and talk to the teachers like an adult.

They are trying to control you. Don't let them.
Call your parents maybe?

OR even look up school rules and see what books they ban.

Technically, if the books and dvds they took aren't on the list they have to give them back. What does my school teacher keep confiscating my books?
Im really sorry to hear that. Such a sad thing to have something you love taken away like that. Im catholic and we can be pretty strict on stuff like that too. Why cant you tell your parents? Will they be mad that you had them or will you be in more trouble at school? I think they would have to give them back when you go home if not you should tell your parents at least to find a way to get them even if that means they have to take them home. If you choose to continue to read stuff like that try hiding the books from everyone, maybe under a mattress? Its just school rules even though they suck. What does my school teacher keep confiscating my books?
Why can't you tell your parents? Call or email them or something..

PS. They don't want you to have your escape because they want control over you and your mind.
Wow. Your school is ridiculous. Definitely look up the rules and your rights. Talk to your teacher about it if you can and ask them why they find it so distasteful. Try writing a letter to the head of your school explaining why you want to read the books and why you feel they're worth reading. And try to contact your parents. If your school is trying to limit you like this, you'd be better off someplace else in my opinion. Good luck!
